11/10/2007  Quiet Rainy Days at Manito  A refreshing autumn rain is falling in Spokane this week and Manito Park's gardens are getting a good watering.

The park is quiet and if you don't mind a little moisture, it is a real nice walk around the park. There are only a few people and for me it is a good time to reflect and review my week, get some much needed peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of my everyday life.

I really enjoy Manito Park and am thankful this site is here so I can meet other people who love it too.

11/3/2007  Cool Weather Sets In  All the leaves are nearly down at Manito Park. They still blanket the ground under the trees and the weather has been nice and dry, so leaf pile jumping is still very much an option.

10/25/2007  Sunshine and Ducks  The sun was out this morning so went for a jog at Manito Park. It was real pretty there this morning. The air was cold, but in the sun it was warm. When I was joggin I met this really nice elderly woman at the dick pond feeding the ducks and had a good talk with her. All things considered a good morning.

10/21/2007  Windy at Manito  Looks like the wind took its toll on some of the trees this past week. No major damage was done, at least it doesn't appear that way but the leaves are falling quickly. I tool my dog for a walk and it was a nice cool fall day. A good time.

10/20/2007  Fall Colors at Manito  My husband and I went for a walk in Manito this weekend. We took my daughter and walked around the park. Many of the trees are in full fall colors of yellow, red and orange. Duncan Garden was trimmed down to nothing, but roses were still blooming. My daughter enjoyed playing on a huge pile of pine straw piled 5 feet high. A good day. Thanks Manito staff for keeping the park so nice.

10/14/2007  Fall Duncan Garden  We visited Manito Park this last weekend. The park is in full fall color.
The rose garden syill looked good, but Duncan Garden has been trimmed down and the blooms are gone.

It alos appears the fountain has been retired for the season.

Overall a nice visit however.

10/14/2007  Autumn Rose Hill Garden  We took my grandmother and aunt to Manito Park's Rose Hill Garden this weekend. Much to our surprise the roses were still very much in bloom. In fact, there were buds on many of the rose bushes.

The dahlaias were also still in bloom and were beautiful.

So if you still want to catch some of the blooms at Manito Park, get out there soon. The Rose Hill Garden still looks good.
