2009 Spokane Bridge Walk - Spokane Recreation Idea
||Although it doesn't take place in our beloved Manito Park, here are the plans for the 2009 Bridge Walk on June 9, 2009.
It’s brand new this year and we’ve got a healthy and fun project for families to begin. Take a journey with us on a relaxing 4.5 mile loop-walk that crosses over 17 historic bridges in the heart of Spokane. You’ll have a great opportunity to walk, talk and take in the wondrous views and bridges of the Spokane River.
Bridge Walk 2009 is just the beginning. We are planning this as an annual event that will link up year-to-year with a brand new collector’s lapel pin that each year will commemorate a different “bridge of the year.”
Bridge Walk 2009 begins at the historic Monroe Street Bridge, which is this year’s featured bridge. From there you’ll make your way through Riverfront Park at your own pace, crossing 17 different bridges and ending back in the Park at the Rotary Riverfront Fountain. After the walk, show your pin and receive special discounts at Riverfront Park.
Here are the bridges you’ll cover:
1. Monroe Street Bridge
2. Post Street Bridge
3. North Fork Bridge N
4. North Fork Bridge S
5. Wood Bridge by YMCA 1
6. Wood Bridge by YMCA 2
7. Wood Bridge by YMCA 3
